Swedish Massage

Full £40.00  Back, Neck & Shoulders £30.00

During the late 18th century a Swedish gentleman named Pehr Henrik Ling travelled around China. Whilst on his travels he learnt techniques, which allegedly had cured him from rheumatism. On his return he defined a system of massage, linked to the body’s circulatory and lymphatic system, relieving tension, reducing fatigue and promoting deep relaxation.

This encourages the body’s organs and systems to perform more effectively and aid the healing process for any damaged tissue.

This system became known throughout the world as ‘Swedish Massage’

It increases circulation without increasing heart load
It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable
Swedish Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time.
It reduces stress, both emotional and physical

Remedial Massage

From £30.00

This is an advanced form of massage that helps to improve or relieve specific injuries or problems often caused from repetitive physical activity and trauma. Various deep tissue massage techniques are used and designed to assist in correcting these problems, relieving pain and improving range of motion and performance.

Remedial massage is not a relaxing therapy and does involve client participation. Clients may feel bruised for up to 72 hours after the treatment. Exercises are demonstrated and clients recommended continuing them at home.

Techniques used include:
Joint mobilisation
Neuromuscular techniques (NMT)
Trigger points with counter strain
Soft tissue release (STR)
Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF stretches)
Connective tissue manipulation (CTM)

The benefits of deep tissue massage (Remedial):
Stimulates the blood and lymph flow, thereby increasing the supply of oxygen and the removal of toxins.
Reduces swelling, bruising and pain after injury.
Speeds up the healing process.
Breaks down and reduces adhesions (knots) between injured or unhealthy muscle fibres.
Increases the range of movements in the joints
Reduces stress on other muscle groups of the body that may over compensate for an injured area.

Hot Stone Massage

Full £42.00Back, Neck & Shoulders £32.00

Stone therapy is a modern massage technique, which derives from ancient Native American traditions of using heated and cooled stones on the body.

The stones used are naturally shaped and made from volcanic basalt. When heated the stones allow for a much deeper effect than with a conventional massage.

We use Essensa products, which are made from pure, natural ingredients, essential oils are carefully blended and balanced and without artificial colorants, preservatives or fragrances.

“Essensa captures the Life Essence of plants with exceptional care to revitalise, energise and purify the body and skin”

The Essensa Hot Stone massage is unique in comparison to others, in that products are tailored to suit each client’s needs based on the Essensa 3D philosophy, 5 element theory and the root cause of the client’s imbalances.

The hot/warm basalt stones have very positive effects of increasing circulation, metabolism, and lymphatic function, as well as deeply relaxing the muscles. To help re-balance the root cause of the client’s body condition an Essensa customised aromatic blend is added to the massage oil. The body is then cocooned in a thermo blanket; whilst the gemstones are placed on the body to work on different energy (chakra) centres… an incredibly unique experience.

The Essensa Hot Stone Therapy treatment is for anyone who wants to feel better while having a different and unique experience. While the skin and body is improved by the essential oils of the skin treatment, the stones are working on the energies and whole being of the person providing a true holistic therapy.
